The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires

This is a 1974 Hammer horror with Shaw Brothers production film. It stars Peter Cushing, David Chiang and Julie Ege. The film was directed by Roy Ward Baker and Chang Cheh. This film doesn't get the recognition it deserves and critics have been unfair to pull it down. Despite the unpopularity of the film and its miserable feedback, this is a really good film. In my honest opinion, it's probably Hammer's most darkest vampire films that contains an army of the dead and a tragic love story. It was well done and also interesting as it's different to other Hammer vampire movies.

(Spoiler warning) It's probably the only Hammer horror as far as I'm aware when the hero and his beloved both die during battle

The golden masks worn by the seven vampires doesn't fully conceal their decaying features. This film is where the vampire undead LOOK undead. The only vampire that doesn't look like a corpse is Count Dracula. A wandering priest of the vampire temple in China, visits Transylvania to seek Dracula. but then Dracula kills the priest and disguises as the priest to go to the vampire temple. A century later and Dracula, disguised as the priest, has been living in China, who uses the undead to kidnap young women from villages and take their blood. I rate this film a 9/10. It was enjoyable to watch and had it's creepy side.

Spooky Disney ride

This is one of my favourite rides. Its the Haunted Mansion dark ride at Disneyland Park. There is the Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris. It first opened in 1969 and has been the most fun, creepiest and breath taking ride of the resort. It's got a slow moving ghost train Omnimover (doom buggy) that leads through the mansion full of sound effects or creepy ghost voices. There is a shrinking room. A corridor with paintings that seem to alter. A library with a ladder that moves on its own. A shadow seen playing a piano. Ghostly footprints on staircases. Blinking eyes in the dark. And my favourite of all is the ballroom with dancing ghosts! There is so much more to see there. Many surprises too such as the voice of Vincent Price, thunder effects, crows and even a pet cemetery outside! There is the floating head of talking Madame Leota inside the mansion, a ghost bride called Constance Hatchaway, singing busts, and plenty more. At night, you may see a shadow pass a top window of the Haunted Mansion. There are many clues and secrets, such as the bridal ring outside, the weather, references to a sea captain, interactive queue, a spider  hiding something, hidden Mickey Mouse,  hitchhiking phantoms, memorials, a clock with 13 hours, musical features, skulls and gargoyles.

The Haunting Hour

The Haunting Hour is a horror TV series created by R. L. Stein. Each episode is a story or a two part story. The horror anthologies are supposedly family orientated although, in my Full Moon opinion, they're just too dark for children. The stories are like miniature horror films. They're all unique and well spooky enough that this series is just perfect to watch over the Halloween season.

Some of my favourite episodes include "The Red Dress," "Scary Mary (parts 1 and 2)," "The Girl in the Painting", "Wrong Number" and "Alien Candy".

To learn more about this series and find their episode guide, click on The Haunting Hour's own Wikipedia page here: The Haunting Hour at Wikipedia

I rate this a 10/10.

The Witchmaker

This is a mystery horror film from 1969.
The Witchmaker was written and directed by William O'Brown, and it stars Anthony Eisley, Thordis Brandt, Alvy Moore and John Lodge.
This is a real low key low budget horror, with plenty of creepy swamp atmosphere and darkness with sinister goings on. Women have been found dead on a remote island surrounded by dangerous alligator infested swamp and quick sands. A steam boat that goes to the island once a week takes a team of investigators. On the island itself, things go wrong. Someone lurks on the island and watches them, while killing for the victims blood to keep a powerful witch alive, who is centuries old.
If you are interested in the supernatural, more than gore, then this is for you. It's one of those strange mystery paranormal chillers that is great for a stormy evening. I rate this a film 7/10.
