Dragon Crusaders

 

A fantasy made in 2011 "Dragon Crusaders" by The Asylum. It was directed by Mark Atkins and stars Dylan Jones, Feth Greenwood plus more. 

This is quite a stunning scenic location and the storyline is magical and also heroic, but at the same time, simple to follow. There are some gory and brutal scenes, with pirates raiding a village and slaughtering innocent people. A band of crusaders have come upon the bloodshed, only to discover that everyone has died. The pirates have all been killed by a warrior woman, who was trained on an island. The crusading knights discover a witch had put a curse on the pirate ship, but the knights entered it before finding that out. 

This is a really good film and impressive for all fantasy fans. I rate it a whopping 10/10.

Gamera vs Jiger

 This 1970 Japanese movie directed by Noriaki Yuasa is called "Gamera vs Jiger." It's one of many monster films featuring Gamera the fire breathing giant turtle, who is defending humanity against the demon monster called Jiger. This is part of the Titan Kaiju creature films that also include separate productions and franchises. Most people familiar with Godzilla and Mothra will also be impressed with Gamera. 

There is a lot of references to prehistory and an ancient statue on a tropical island that guards a curse. Once removed, the curse takes form of the destructive Jiger. It battles with Gamera until the loved Gamera turns ill and collapses in the water. The true heroes of this film are kids who like to use a small yellow submarine.

 The special effects are funny, archaic and not that good for modern standards. However, to be fair, all of the effort gone into making this, film including the building of models and paintings, is so awesome. 

I rate this a 6/10

Fire and Blood

 

The title of the book is "Fire and Blood" by author George R. R. Martin. I have the 2020 copy with the interview inside. I read through this prequel to "A Song of Ice and Fire" and was disappointed that it ended. 

This is about the Targaryen family history in Westeros, 300 years before "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. It follows many of the kings and queens starting with Aegon the Conqueror. Inside you will discover that Maester Yandel is narrator who's telling the history, events and people of Westeros. 

People who enjoy high fantasy will really love this. Anyone who likes the Horror genre will also be interested in reading this book. This is a detailed and graphic bonus novel about the world of ice and fire, giving us more information about a lot of characters set in the Westerosi past. I found this book hard to put down. There are many gorgeous illustrations within the pages. 

I rate this 9/10

Any minor issues? Not really except there wasn't a map.
