The Witchmaker

This is a mystery horror film from 1969.
The Witchmaker was written and directed by William O'Brown, and it stars Anthony Eisley, Thordis Brandt, Alvy Moore and John Lodge.
This is a real low key low budget horror, with plenty of creepy swamp atmosphere and darkness with sinister goings on. Women have been found dead on a remote island surrounded by dangerous alligator infested swamp and quick sands. A steam boat that goes to the island once a week takes a team of investigators. On the island itself, things go wrong. Someone lurks on the island and watches them, while killing for the victims blood to keep a powerful witch alive, who is centuries old.
If you are interested in the supernatural, more than gore, then this is for you. It's one of those strange mystery paranormal chillers that is great for a stormy evening. I rate this a film 7/10.

The Black Castle

The Black Castle is a horror film made in 1952. Directed by Nathan H. Juran, and starring Richard Greene, Boris Karloff, Rita Corday and others. The film is in black and white, but looks stylish and the sets, costumes and photography is gorgeous. A man from England visits Austria looking for his missing friends, and tracks down their movements to a sinister castle, owned by ruthless Count von Bruno. There is so much mystery and tension that I give this a 8/10.

The Murder Clinic

This is a 1966 horror film called The Murder Clinic and also called The Knife in the Body. It's an Italian film directed by Lionello De Felice and Elio Scardamaglia. The stars include William Berger and Mary Young. The film is about a giant psychiatric clinic with lavish paintings on the walls, maid servants and a resident doctor who keeps a sinister past upstairs on a forbidden floor. Strange sounds are heard every night. A new nurse listens to odd sounds and creepy movements after a patient disappears. Someone knows something. There is a lot of different characters and so much gorgeous sets and beautiful costumes. I rank this a 7/10 for eye candy and its sheer gothic mystery. A scary film that is worth watching.

King Kong vs. Godzilla

King Kong vs. Godzilla is a 1962 monster film of the kaiju genre. It was directed by Ishiro Honda, and stars Tadao Takashima, Kenji Sahara, Mei Hama and Yu Fujiki. It's been reported that a massive dinosaur-like creature (Godzilla) has broken out of an iceberg! A group of scientists want to find a giant ape like creature (King Kong) that is hidden somewhere on a remote island!

If you ever fancy watching a battle of giant monsters, this film is certainly for you! It was well made for its time, and the basic special effects looks neat. The film didn't lack humour as there was some laughs. This is a fantastic beastly film!

It deserves a 7/10.
