Dark fan theories 2

There are some more films with sinister conspiracies or fan theories around them. This is the second part of my dark fan theories topic.

Coraline is a 2009 animated horror film. There are plenty of creepy themes in the film as it is but the storyline is simplistic and almost gothic but I will just focus on one. This film has a lot of theories that make it far more darker than it is. The Other Mother is also called a "beldam" by some spirits of her victims. A beldam is an archaic word meaning "witch". The Other Mother has buttons for eyes and is obsessed with sewing buttons on Coraline after removing her eyes. Its said that the Other Mother killed all of those children over time. There are silhouettes of the those children on the wall of the Other Mother's dining room.

Frozen is a Disney favourite and there are plenty of sinister theories on this to make you see the film in another light (or lacklustre!). Sven's own mother was killed by Kristoff, and Kristoff wears clothes made of reindeer pelts. Now Sven likes Kristoff because he smells like his mother! Another theory is that the trolls are truly the villains because they denied Elsa's magical powers, sent her away into isolation and they steal babies. No thanks to Elsa's father who many believe wanted to use Elsa as a weapon so he kept her away.

My Neighbour Totoro film by Studio Ghibli has a load of very grim theories. One is that Totoro is a psychopomp, or a god of death, so that whenever someone is about to die then they can see Totoro. The two girls featured in the animated movie are dead, according to many fans. The film is set in the Sayama Hills, and the name itself has caused fans to speculate that this is a link to the tragic Sayama Incident involving two sisters.

Will you watch those now feeling quite differently about them?
Anyway more will come in part three.

Howls ^^
