The Stepford Wives (1975)
This is one of the most creepiest non-paranormal horror films without slasher elements or axe welding maniacs. My review is of the 1975 original film. Its based on the book of the same title by author Ira Levin. It was directed by Brian Forbes.
The plot begins with a family house move. The focus is on mother Joanna, who enjoys photography and finds it difficult to make friends with the women in the new town called Stepford. There is a lot of weird goings on, as some of the women turn bizarre if they drink alcohol. They're obsessed only with housework and they all wear frilly old fashioned dresses. Joanna's husband knows something is going on, and his new lot of friends are all creepy.
The film gets a 8/10 as it's quite chilling.
Howls ^^
