Mars Needs Women

 This is a 1968 low budget sci-fi film directed by Larry Buchanan. The stars includes Tommy Kirk, Yvonne Craig and Byron Lord.  

At the start, three women suddenly vanish. One playing tennis, one dining with her boyfriend and another taking a shower. It's not clear why that scene was used because a group of men from Mars didn't kidnap women in the same way again, but went through very careful ways to meet women that suited their needs in romance. They were looking for eligible young fertile single women because few girls were being born on Mars. They select women and each go off on adventures to find her. Then one of them, names Dob, meets a beautiful scientist. 

A very pleasant romance film with some funny moments and a science fiction theme and a lot of scientific script. It makes an interesting backstory, because that would mean there are humans on Mars and these men needed to get fresh Earthlings to continue to breed. It's a shame this never became a series, and lovers of all things romantic and also sci-fi would really enjoy this.
